Huawei and Industry Partners Win GSMA Foundry Excellence Award for Mobile AI Network Innovation

At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei and leading operators and ecosystem partners received the GSMA Foundry Excellence Awards 2026 for their joint project Mobile Network for Thriving AI. The award recognizes the mature operations and globally scalable innovation of the project. It represents the GSMA’s endorsement of the project’s technological innovations and industry collaboration in evolving networks for the mobile AI era. Furthermore, it signals a global industry consensus on building networks with superior capabilities like GigaUplink, large capacity, and low latency, to support mobile AI applications.

AI is seeing explosive growth. It has become deeply embedded in everyday work and life and it is accelerating technological innovations and industrial transformation at an unprecedented pace. Mobile AI introduces fundamentally new paradigms of user interaction, transforms network traffic patterns, and significantly enhances productivity. This creates new network development opportunities for operators. Together with multiple leading operators, Huawei has established the Mobile Network for Thriving AI project to jointly explore high-value mobile AI applications and enable coordinated technological innovations. By leveraging the GigaGreen solution portfolio and key technologies like GigaUplink, the project is building networks with optimized multidimensional performance to support emerging demands of mobile AI services and unlock new commercial opportunities. The project has been successfully implemented in China, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, establishing a benchmark for network construction in the mobile AI era.

It brings together GSMA members and telecom industry partners to quickly develop real-world solutions to industry challenges, to nurture new ideas through commercial trials, and to scale up proven solutions globally, shaping a more digital future.

MWC Barcelona 2026 will be held from March 2 to March 5 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.
