Oracle, as part of Project Jupiter, Supports Hands-On Education Park for Families in Southern New Mexico

Doña Ana County, New Mexico and Austin, Texas – WEBWIRE

For kids who live in Doña Ana County, dinosaurs are more than a prehistoric tale - fossils have been discovered in the land beneath their feet. Dino Dig, a planned education park in Sunland Park, New Mexico will give families the opportunity to explore that history firsthand through hands-on fossil discovery. The project is spearheaded by local nonprofit Moms on Board, in partnership with the City of Sunland Park.

As part of Oracle’s commitment to advancing education, the company will be the exclusive title sponsor for Dino Dig, which was inspired by the discovery of 98-million-year-old dinosaur footprints at the base of local landmark Mount Cristo Rey. The park will help local kids explore these prehistoric creatures through educational stations and hands-on scientific excavations featuring replicas of fossils found in the area.

“With Dino Dig, we can help turn science into something kids can see and touch,” said Mayra Garcia Lopez, executive director of Moms on Board. “Dinosaurs spark kids’ imaginations, and having real dinosaur tracks in southern New Mexico makes the experience even more magical. Oracle’s contribution will help bring this community resource to life.”

“Oracle’s philanthropy spans more than three decades of impact in the communities where we operate,” said Colleen Cassity, vice president of Social Impact at Oracle. “By supporting Dino Dig, we’re expanding access to education for families in southern New Mexico. This new park will support learning about paleontology, geology, and ancient ecosystems, helping inspire future scientists and innovators.”

Located in the Sunland Park Sports Complex, Dino Dig will serve as a community learning space, supporting school field trips, family science days, and ongoing educational programming for children.

This commitment is part of Oracle and Project Jupiter’s broader investments in the State of New Mexico and Doña Ana County.
