Arizona Teacher Provides Students with Free Books Through Scholastic ClassroomsCount™
Arizona’s Family recently featured a local elementary school teacher who has been using Scholastic ClassroomsCount™ to make a meaningful difference in her classroom.
Each month, Lindsey Buckler, a first-grade teacher at Coyote Trail Elementary, gives her students a free book to take home and enjoy. Buckler is able to do this with the funds she raised through Scholastic ClassroomsCount™, a free fundraising platform designed to put more books and teaching resources directly into classrooms.
Buckler said that since providing her students with books to read at home, their test scores have improved. This month, students went home with the title: How to Catch a Yeti by Adam Wallace, with illustrations by Andy Elkerton.
