Making their series debut, Fever Rackets are powerful tools that you can equip to unleash a volley of wild shots. Keep a rally going, build up your Fever Gauge, then unload wicked Fever Shots—each with their own special effect.

Want to put the competition on ice? Freeze the court with the Ice Racket. Your opponent moving around a little too freely? Make obstacle enemies appear with the Pokey Racket! You can mix and match 30 different Fever Rackets with 38 playable characters until you find a combo that works for you.

Hm? Oh, “38 characters?!” you ask? Well, let’s get into them!

This addition to the Mario Tennis series isn’t just causin’ a racket with Fever Rackets, but with the largest player roster in the series’ history! Some of the newcomers include Goomba, Nabbit, and Baby Waluigi.

You can choose from 38 playable characters, each with their own player stats and skillset. Want a character with a bit of speed and powerful slice shots? You may want to choose Luigi. Maybe you’re looking for a character that’s a little slower, but has way more control. Peach’s unrivaled accuracy lets her expertly land shots right at the court’s edge.

As you check out each character, there will be a bit of information that can help you choose a player that best fits your style.

Play together

Whether you’re looking to ace the competition alone or with a friend, you can set your next match locally* (in the same room) or online** (in different locations) with up to four players!

You can even share the fun with GameShare***. As long as one person has the game, they can invite a friend (or up to three friends) to play with them!

Whether you’re lookin’ to get play-by-play commentary from a Talking Flower, take on matches with unexpected rules, or just have a 1v1 match with a friend, there are several options to fit your mood. Here’s a quick rundown:

• Dive into a world of wonder and aim for the Wonder Seeds in a Wonder Court Match

• Battle your way through brackets to become the tournament champ (all this while a Talking Flower broadcasts the match) in Tournament Mode

• Take on challenges and aim for the top in Trial Towers

• Hit tennis balls through rings to earn points in Ring Shot

• Feed Piranha Plants with tennis balls to make the court area bigger in a Forest Court Match

• Balls and players alike will bounce off of pinball bumpers in Pinball Match

• Hit the ball on the lit floor and grab Fever Rackets that appear in a Racket Factory Match

• Gently swing your Joy-Con™ 2 controller like a racket to feel like you’re on the court in Swing Mode

• With so many characters to choose from and ways to play, you’ll want to expect the unexpected in this unusual take on traditional tennis!

Adventure Mode

It looks like Mario and his pals have just found themselves in one dill of a pickle. After crossing paths with some rather rude monsters, the gang is transformed into…babies?!

Now, babies are generally not known for having exceptional tennis-playing skills. Sadly, Mario and friends are no different.

In Adventure Mode, you’ll need to help this squat squad get back to normal by learning basic shots, completing challenges, and taking on bosses blocking your way. And if you’re new to the series, this is a great way to learn different types of shots and get ready to take on even more competition!
