The Board of Directors of the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation has elected François de Ricqlès as its new President during its meeting. Previously serving as Vice-President, he succeeds Serge Toubiana, who had been a board member since 2012 and President since 2019.

A renowned auctioneer and art market specialist, François de Ricqlès joined Christie’s in Paris in 2002 and became its President, a position he held from 2010 to 2019. A prominent figure in his field, he organized some of the most remarkable sales in France over the past decades, including the famous auction of the Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé collections at the Grand Palais in February 2009. An administrator and Vice-President of the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson since 2019, he was elected President of this esteemed photography institution during the Board meeting on December 15, 2025.

Serge Toubiana served as Director of the Cinémathèque française from 2003 to 2016. During his presidency of the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, he oversaw a pivotal stage in its development, including its move to new premises on rue des Archives in the heart of the Marais, as well as their expansion with the completion of the Tube in 2022.
