Londoners are officially bananas for bananas - with the capital the only place in the UK where the much-loved fruit is the most popular product bought by Clubcard members Tesco’s Clubcard Unpacked 2025 has revealed.

While Londoners found bananas most appealing, in every other region in the UK milk was the number one item that Clubcard members put in their shopping baskets.

The bananas revelation comes as Tesco today shares with Clubcard members their very own Clubcard Unpacked report, giving an insight into their own shopping habits, including their most bought products, how much they saved with Clubcard Prices, and which was their favourite meal deal.

2025 has been a landmark year for Clubcard as we celebrated its 30th anniversary with the 24 million UK households who have a Clubcard membership.

“From Londoners who can’t get enough bananas to our Welsh customers who love a packet of McCoys Grilled Steak crisps, this year’s Clubcard Unpacked shines a light on the trends and in-vogue flavours across the UK.

“Millions of our Clubcard customers gets their very own Unpacked report, so make sure to keep an eye out for it on the Tesco app.

This year’s Clubcard Unpacked has revealed that the most popular Tesco meal deal saw a change in 2025. While the Chicken Club Sandwich remains the nation’s favourite main and the Protein Egg Pot is the favourite snack for a second year-running, Red Bull has winged its way to the top drink in the UK meal deal, knocking Coca Cola off the top spot.

However – there were some big regional differences. In Scotland, Wales and the North West of England the Just Ham Sandwich was Clubcard members’ top choice, while in Yorkshire and Humber the Smoked Ham and Mature Cheddar sub took the top spot.

The Egg Protein Pot was the favourite snack choice across most UK regions, but Hula Hoops BBQ Beef Big Hoops took the top meal deal snack spot in both the East of England and the South West, while the McCoy’s Salt & Vinegar Grab Bag was the top choice in Scotland and the McCoy’s Grilled Steak Grab Bag the top choice in Wales.

And while Red Bull took the top spot for the most popular meal deal drink in most regions, Coca Cola held on to the top spot in Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man, with Pepsi Max the number one choice in Northern Ireland.

The Clubcard Unpacked 2025 data also revealed that, when it came to making the most of their Clubcard Vouchers, shoppers in the South East and East of England were the most likely to double the value of their vouchers with Reward Partners.

Eating Out was by far the most popular Reward Partner category for Clubcard members, with members across the UK choosing to spend the greatest value of their vouchers at participating restaurants. Only in the North East and the Isle of Man were travel rewards the most popular.

Clubcard members keen to dive into their results will be able to view their Clubcard Unpacked in the Tesco app or through their online Clubcard account from 6 January, for a limited time.
