Canada Basketball re-launches Game Plan learning platform

Canada Basketball has re-launched its Learning Management System (LMS) Game Plan, marking a significant update to how coaching and officiating education is delivered across the country.

Game Plan serves as Canada Basketball’s centralized platform for coaching and officiating resources, including NCCP workshops, instructional videos, a drill builder and other development tools. The refreshed platform introduces more than 100 new coaching videos, a new coaching podcast and a suite of eLearning modules designed to offer more flexible, accessible and cost-effective learning opportunities.

The update reflects Canada Basketball’s ongoing commitment to supporting coaches and officials at every stage of their development, with resources that can be accessed anytime and from anywhere.

“This new version of Game Plan represents an important step forward in how we are investing in the development of coaches and officials across Canada,” said Sandy MacIntosh, Director of Membership & Domestic Programs. “By investing in high-quality, flexible learning opportunities, we are ensuring that coaches, regardless of geography or experience level, have access to the tools they need to help athletes grow and strengthen the game in their communities.”

New features and offerings

eLearning modules
The platform now includes self-paced eLearning modules built around best practices and aligned with evidence-based research. Each module costs $15, helping to lower barriers to education and expand access for coaches nationwide.

Canada Basketball Coaching Podcast
The newly launched Canada Basketball Coaching Podcast delivers free weekly audio episodes focused on coaching education. The podcast features guests from Canada and abroad, including coaches, researchers and leaders in the basketball community, with content relevant from grassroots and youth levels through to professional environments.

Audio episodes are available free of charge, while video podcast content and additional features are accessible through paid Game Plan subscriptions.

Access and subscriptions
Free Game Plan users have access to a range of resources, including select videos, educational materials and the audio podcast. Paid subscriptions are available for $39.99 per year and include access to hundreds of additional coaching videos, drills, a practice planner and drill creator, video podcast content and other tools.

The Game Plan platform will continue to expand, with additional modules, resources and features scheduled for release in the coming months.
