Marubeni Transfers Shares of Australian Gas Distribution Company Allgas Energy

Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, “Marubeni”) holds a 40% stake in Allgas Energy Pty Ltd (hereinafter, “Allgas”), which operates a gas distribution business in Australia. Marubeni has now agreed, jointly with its investment partners, to transfer all of their shares in Allgas to an infrastructure fund managed by Stonepeak Partners LP, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets.

Allgas operates a gas distribution business in southern Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Since Marubeni became a shareholder in December 2011, the company has expanded its business against the backdrop of population growth and, through stable operations, has contributed to the development of everyday life and economic activities in the region.

Under its Mid-term Management Strategy (GC2027), Marubeni aims to accelerate investment recovery and prioritize capital allocation to high-quality growth investments. The sale of Allgas has been implemented as part of this initiative. Marubeni will continue to strengthen its business portfolio through asset replacement, aiming to further enhance its corporate value.
