At Nordea, we believe in making a meaningful difference in the communities where we live and work. Supporting children’s well-being in Ukraine: Nordea donates to The Nadija Foundation
As a highlight of our giving this year, we are glad to announce a donation of EUR 135,000 to The Nadija Foundation,
a Nordic-Ukrainian initiative dedicated to the mental and physical rehabilitation of war-affected children in Ukraine. With this donation, we wish to contribute to our ongoing commitment to building resilient, inclusive communities across the Nordics and beyond.
The Nadija Foundation’s three-stage plan, comprising a virtual hospital, a research institute, and a physical rehabilitation hospital in Lviv, aims to establish a Centre of Excellence in child mental health and trauma recovery. By partnering with trusted organisations such as the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Lviv National Medical University, the foundation ensures local integration and long-term relevance for its work.
“At Nordea, we believe that supporting children’s well-being is an investment in the future,” says Ulrika Romantschuk, Head of Group Brand, Communication and Marketing.
“Nordea supports the people in Ukraine and is taking action to help with international relief and aid efforts and by partnering with organisations that demonstrate strong governance and measurable results, we ensure our contributions reach those who need them most. Last year, Nordea donated to the Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, supporting emergency medical care for children affected by the war. Building on this commitment, our new donation to The Nadija Foundation is a natural next step in helping to secure the well-being and future of children in Ukraine.”
