Commitment to Water Policy
Hansgrohe Strengthens European Water Policy: Fiona Félix on Water Europe Board
The Hansgrohe Group hands over its seat on the Water Europe board: Fiona Félix, Head of Public Affairs, will succeed CEO Hans Jürgen Kalmbach in January 2026. This means that the company will remain part of the central European committee for sustainable water management. Water Europe brings together over 200 members from 27 countries and is committed to a water-secure, sustainable, and water-smart society. The platform brings together companies, universities, and utilities to drive innovation in the water sector and help shape the political framework.
Water Resilience for Europe
Fiona Félix has been Head of the Public Affairs department at Hansgrohe since 2022 and brings experience from industry representation in Brussels to the table. “With her expertise and commitment, Fiona has helped shape the EU’s recently adopted water resilience strategy in line with our interests,” explains Hans Jürgen Kalmbach. “I am handing over my seat on the Executive Board to experienced hands and am convinced that she will represent the Hansgrohe Group and the members of Water Europe effectively.”
More Efficient Water Use
An analysis by the European Environmental Agency shows that over 40 percent of the European Union’s population is already affected by water scarcity.* That is why Hansgrohe is pursuing a clear strategy with its “ECO 2030” initiative: by 2030, all water-carrying products will be available exclusively with water-saving technologies. "Water policy directly affects our economic policy, as well as our innovation strategy. We need clear political framework conditions so that innovations in water conservation can have a widespread impact and avert the negative effects of increasing water scarcity on the economy and society, “ says Fiona Félix. ”As part of Water Europe, I want to work to ensure that water efficiency in buildings receives a greater political focus—not only as a technical issue, but also as an economic and social issue for the future"
