Save the Children Celebrates 15-year Partnership with $8.6M Accenture Grant to Expand Youth Livelihood Programs

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – WEBWIRE

Save the Children and Accenture mark 15 years of impactful partnership with a milestone $8.6 million multi-year grant. This investment will scale youth livelihood programs across seven countries, empowering the next generation with skills and job opportunities to succeed in work and in life .

Among the 186 million people worldwide who are unemployed, over a third –roughly 66 million– are youth (15-24 years) . Save the Children’s Skills to Succeed aims to unlock the tremendous human capital and economic opportunity youth represent. The program is designed to strengthen employability and employment outcomes in safe and decent jobs, while equipping youth to break intergenerational cycles of poverty.

Since the launch of the Skills to Succeed program, the partnership has trained 248,000 youth in employability, entrepreneurial, vocational and financial skills across 10 countries, and over 135,000 have continued into employment, entrepreneurship, or higher education. This next phase of the collaboration will extend the initiative’s reach in China, Indonesia, Italy, Thailand, South Africa, and Vietnam —building on proven approaches to help vulnerable youth thrive in a rapidly evolving labor market, with more than 50,000 expected to transition into employment or entrepreneurship by 2029.

“Our partnership with Accenture is rooted in a shared vision—to create a more prosperous and secure future for the next generation. We’re grateful for this long-standing collaboration and investment in youth,” said Betsy Zorio, Chief Impact Officer of Save the Children US. “Together, we’ll continue to bring impactful learning programs that help young people develop the skills they need to find better jobs, start their own businesses, and pursue thriving livelihoods. Because when youth prosper, societies flourish too.”

Jill Huntley, Managing Director for Global Corporate Citizenship at Accenture, said “Accenture’s long-standing partnership with Save the Children reflects our shared commitment to empowering youth with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive. By expanding our work beyond skilling to include support with job placement and entrepreneurship, we’re helping young people move confidently from learning to earning. Together, we’re reinventing approaches and leveraging technology to open opportunities for youth to unlock their potential and contribute to more prosperous and resilient communities”

With Accenture’s support, Save the Children will continue to innovate, testing and scaling new job placement models that help youth move from learning to earning—and flourishing. This partnership is also advancing the use of technology and AI to scale solutions and prepare young people to excel in a rapidly evolving workforce.

In addition to Skills to Succeed, Save the Children collaborates with Accenture Development Partnerships (ADP), who engage with the organization on a low-bono basis on a variety of projects.
