A mysterious planet, an enemy with a deep-seated grudge, and an ancient alien race?

Sounds like a job for one of the greatest bounty hunters in the galaxy: Samus Aran!

When deadly sharpshooter Sylux finally catches up with Samus Aran, their clash activates a strange artifact. As a result, Samus finds herself transported to Viewros—an unknown planet once inhabited by an ancient civilization. Now she must explore the planet, battle the strange creatures that inhabit it, and find a way home.

In the Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond game, you’ll need to scan your surroundings for clues, make the most of your equipment and weapons, and use Samus’s newfound psychic abilities to manipulate her surroundings.

To find a way home, Samus will need to utilize every tool in her arsenal. From her Power Suit to her sweet new ride, Vi-O-La, we’ll go over some of the gear at Samus’s disposal.

• Power Suit: Highly customizable exoskeleton that provides protection and access to different abilities

• Scan Visor: Collects and processes information from the environment

• Power and Charge Beam: Unleashes rapid fire or charged shots

• Missiles: Highly accurate, target-tracking projectiles

• Morph Ball: Transforms Samus into a compact mobile sphere

Along the way, Samus will also be granted mysterious and ancient powers: Psychic Abilities.

• Control Beam: Allows Samus to control the trajectory of her projectiles with her mind

• Psychic Glove: Manipulates energy and activates mechanisms

By harnessing these abilities, you can access additional areas to explore. But with such an expansive world, you may need something a bit faster…

Various zones are connected by a vast, open desert called Sol Valley. By obtaining Vi-O-La, a piece of technology left behind by an ancient civilization, Samus can freely traverse the desert and head for each zone.

But Vi-O-La isn’t just a fancy set of wheels—certain actions can be taken while riding. Boost through enemies and objects, fire counterattacks at approaching hostile enemies, destroy rocks to collect ore, and more.

It’s important to note that these aren’t the only abilities in Samus’s arsenal. Throughout your journey, you’ll be able to discover upgrades, too—some of which may add psychic properties to your tools.

Like Samus, several Galactic Federation Troops were also transported to Viewros during the accident. Follow their distress signals to help the Troopers and occasionally battle alongside them! Cooperation is the key to survival and escape.

Players with a Nintendo Switch 2 system have the option to buy the Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition. This enhanced version of the game improves the resolution, framerate, and load times. You can choose to go all-in on visual detail with Quality Mode, or select Performance Mode to prioritize even smoother gameplay. Oh, and you can also aim using a Joy-Con™ 2 controller as a mouse!
