Tieto to sell Bekk Consulting AS in Norway to private equity firm Axcel
Tieto (formerly Tietoevry 1)) has entered into an agreement to sell Bekk Consulting AS (Bekk) in Norway to private equity firm Axcel. The cash and debt free purchase price (enterprise value) for the divested operations amounts to NOK 1 700 million (approximately EUR 140 million), subject to customary adjustments at closing. The divestment is expected to close during the first quarter of 2026. In line with its newly updated capital allocation policy, Tieto intends to use the proceeds to reduce debt and to distribute capital to shareholders.
Initially acquired by ErgoGroup in 2007, Bekk with its around 600 employees is today part of Tieto Tech Consulting (formerly Tietoevry Create). However, the company has been run independently under Bekk brand throughout the years and has a renowned position in technology and management consulting market in Norway. At the end of the third quarter of 2025, Bekk’s last twelve months’ revenue amounted to NOK 1 056 million with operating profit (EBIT) of NOK 150 million.
In Tieto Tech Consulting, the strategic refocus towards simplified and more integrated operations has opened a logical point to consider the future of Bekk, and the avenue announced today is seen the best way forward.
“We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Axcel. Bekk, with its notable position in Norway, has operated as an independent entity within Tieto Tech Consulting. As Tech Consulting is currently redefining its strategic focus, it became clear that allowing Bekk to continue independently is the best path forward for both parties,” says Endre Rangnes, President and CEO of Tieto.
“Bekk is one of the strongest technology and management consultancies in Norway. We’re delighted to work with Bekk to support its continued development as a leading digital transformation partner, and we appreciate our good collaboration with Tieto in reaching this agreement,” says Axcel Partner Lars Cordt.
DNB Carnegie acted as exclusive financial advisor, and Schjødt served as legal counsel to Tieto in connection with the transaction.
1) Tietoevry has adopted the new brand name Tieto as from November 2025. The change of the Parent company’s name, Tietoevry Corporation, is subject to the decision of the Annual General meeting.
