Nissan launches all-New Frontier Pro and Frontier Pro PHEV in China

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that its joint venture in China, Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Zhengzhou Nissan), will launch the all-new Frontier Pro and Frontier Pro PHEV (plug-in hybrid), Nissan’s first pickup truck with such a system. Both models represent Nissan’s first pickup trucks that are designed, developed, and manufactured in China for global export.

Nissan will continue to strongly support the development of Zhengzhou Nissan, deepen its China strategy, drive the market with local innovation, and establish a new trend in the LCV market with Nissan’s foundation and China’s speed.”

Pricing for the Frontier Pro is set at 169.9 to 199.9 thousand RMB; the Frontier Pro PHEV at 189.9 to 249.9 thousand RMB.

Design
The Frontier Pro features Nissan’s signature V-motion front grille, a floating laser-engraved logo, and advanced LED headlights that create a futuristic impression. In the rear, the 3-D tail lamps and lighting that spans the length of the tailgate create a striking presence.

Inside, the interior is designed for comfort, safety, and a premium experience. The front leather seats use a six-layer breathable cushion that help make long drives more comfortable. Refined suede materials are pleasant to the touch and excellent abrasion and scratch resistance. The spacious rear seats can be configured seven different ways and offers up to 970 liters of storage capacity when in a flat orientation. The cabin, enhanced with soundproofing and vibration-damping materials, features a large panoramic sunroof and world-class audio.

Body structure and safety features
The Frontier Pro delivers impressive ride stability over harsh terrain, thanks to the extensive use of high-strength steel in the body and frame. The exterior panels use 100% double-sided galvanized steel, and the underbody is coated for protection against gravel and debris. The vehicle is equipped with safety features that offer heightened awareness including 25 driver-assistance features that support the driver both passively and actively in accident prevention and occupant protection.

Performance under the hood
The Frontier Pro PHEV features a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a high-output electric motor delivering over 300kW of power and up to 800Nm of torque for outstanding performance and energy efficiency. The EV mode aims for a maximum range of 135km^*. A 6kW high-capacity intelligent external power supply is offered to support a wide range of outdoor needs from cooking and lighting to powering equipment.

The Frontier Pro (combustion model) combines a third-generation M9T diesel engine delivering 500Nm of torque with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
