TEMPLETON, Calif.– Officials of Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) and the company’s Twin Cities Community Hospital today dedicated a new three-story patient tower that adds 30 patient beds to the 84-bed hospital and expands obstetrics, critical care and emergency services for the residents of the northern part of San Luis Obispo County, Calif..

The 62,255 square-foot tower is equipped with advanced medical technology to support the latest advancements in clinical care. The ground floor houses a new, 13,300 square-foot emergency department, which is more than five times the size of the previous emergency department. The second floor critical care unit features large, private rooms with touch-screen monitors that can monitor 14 vital signs simultaneously. The tower’s third floor is a dedicated obstetrics unit with three labor, delivery and recovery rooms; 10 private postpartum rooms; one cesarean room and a high-security nursery. The new tower is expected to open and begin serving patients in July.

“Twin Cities Community Hospital serves one of the fastest growing parts of San Luis Obispo County, and the new tower expands essential services for the hospital to better serve its community,” said Trevor Fetter, Tenet’s president and chief executive officer. “This expansion and Tenet’s capital investment at nearby Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo showcases our commitment to expand our hospitals and to provide quality health care in the communities they serve.”

At Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, Tenet will break ground later this year on a $12 million five-story parking garage that will provide an additional 523 parking spaces. In addition, a three-story, 45,000 square foot medical office building is under development on the hospital’s campus by a third party developer.
