Kirby’s latest vehicle action game is here! Charge, boost, and spin to attack your rivals
Looking for a rowdy rush? A turbocharged thrill? Or maybe just an extra helping of colorful chaos? Well, maybe it’s time to see what the mighty pink puff is up to—the Kirby™ Air Riders game just blasted its way exclusively to the Nintendo Switch™ 2 system. Let’s quickly go over the game!
How to playPick your rider, pick your machine, and mount up for competition. Take on your rivals in frantic arena battles or fast-paced races on the ground and in the air. Use the Boost Charge button to brake and control your turns as your machine automatically fights for top speed. Fill your Boost Charge Gauge as you drift around the bend and release it to trigger an explosive dash!
Choose from a variety of riders like Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Magolor from the Kirby’s Return to Dream Land™ game, and machines including the Warp Star, Wheelie Bike, Chariot, and more. Each combo handles differently, with its own set of stats and Specials, and each rider can grab Copy Abilities off their foes to get an edge in the fray.
Compete in a variety of modes, all of which you can play casually or in competitive ranked matches—whether online*, locally** on a single system, or via local wireless**.
Choose your modeZip around the city of Skyah in City Trial: a free-for-all battle for 16 players online or 8 players via local wireless. Roam around Skyah to find machines, collect power-ups, and survive through unpredictable Field Events ranging from falling meteors to powerful boss battles. After five minutes of powering up, you and your rivals will compete in one of a whole host of different Stadium contests, each with its own objective. These include drag races, battle arenas, skydiving for points and more—it helps to be ready for anything.
If more straightforward racing is to your liking, check out Air Ride: a frantic dash against 5 other Riders online or via local wireless. Attack opposing Riders, or trail close behind their wake, to gather up stars and use the speed boost they provide. For a different perspective altogether, try Top Ride, where you view your Rider from a bird’s eye vantage, and the entire track is on screen from start to finish.
Single-player mayhemDiscover the story of Zorah in the single-player Road Trip mode. Complete stages of single-player challenges, featuring all the playstyles found in the game’s multiplayer modes, to progress through a wild and unusual story. Choose any Rider you like and put your skills to the test.
Get to know the PaddockGather groups of up to 32 players online in the Paddock, a lobby where you can hang out to play matches in City Trial, Air Ride, Top Ride, and more.
You can also use an in-game currency called Miles to buy and sell machines at the Machine Market. As you compete and complete challenges, you’ll earn Miles that you can spend to unlock cosmetic options like accessories, decals, patterns, special effects, and more. Customize the look of your machine, put it up for sale on the market, and other players will be able to spend their Miles to grab your creations. You can also snag other players’ customized machines.
