Launching 26th June 2026, this Collector’s Edition marks Retro Games Limited’s most ambitious celebration of Spectrum heritage to date.  The one-millionth ZX Spectrum, produced in 1983, represents far more than a numerical achievement.  It symbolised the moment the UK firmly established itself as a global centre of creativity, coding, and digital innovation.  As the first British home computer to surpass one million sales, the Spectrum ignited the nation’s ‘bedroom coder’ movement, nurturing future industry pioneers and giving millions of young people their first taste of programming, digital art, and game creation.
 
While the iconic Spectrum was known for its black casing, Sinclair created a rare all-white Spectrum to commemorate this momentous milestone.  Produced in exceptionally small numbers and never commercially released, this ‘white Spectrum’ became a legendary collector’s item, a mythical piece of British computing history spoken of more often than seen.  The Spectrum Collector’s Edition draws direct inspiration from this elusive white model, capturing its spirit, rarity, and cultural significance in a cohesive, display-worthy tribute.
