New Data Shows Students Achieved Up to Three Months of Academic Growth with Scholastic Scholar Zone Powered by Arly

Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, together with Arly, the leading platform transforming how youth programs plan, manage, and measure impact, announced compelling academic gains achieved through summer learning programs fueled by the Scholastic Scholar Zone™ Summer Powered by Arly curriculum. Participating students nationwide not only reversed summer learning loss, but demonstrated accelerated academic growth—achieving up to three or more months of grade-equivalent gains in both literacy and math skills.

Students were assessed before and after program participation using the Star Assessments by Renaissance Learning. Students who began below grade level (below the 40^th percentile) grew an average of 2.5 months in literacy, with those in the lowest quartile (below the 25^th percentile) gaining an average of 3 months. Similarly, students below grade level in math achieved an average of 3 months growth, with the lowest quartile exceeding that benchmark.

Staff are also seeing the benefits of Scholar Zone in action. Describing the experience as both rewarding and professionally enriching, 96% of staff reported they had the tools and resources to do their job well and 88% said they would recommend the program to colleagues.
