Barnes & Noble Re-Opens Park Slope Store in Brooklyn
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Re-Opening at 9AM on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025
Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the grand re-opening of its Park Slope bookstore in Brooklyn, NY. The newly renovated 7th Avenue bookstore (267 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215) will officially reopen to the public at 9AM ET on Wednesday the 12th.
The Park Slope Barnes & Noble was opened over 28 years ago, in September 1997. The bookstore has been a fixture in Park Slope ever since. The bookstore is one of the largest in the city at 23,500 sq. ft. and has historically been one of the most successful of all the Barnes & Noble stores.
“We are very lucky in New York City to retain really large bookstores, with our own 4 and also The Strand, when most metropolitan cities have lost theirs,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “The Park Slope bookstore has undergone a total renovation and restores the building to its proper glory. It is very good news to secure the future of this wonderful bookstore.”
The investment in the Park Slope bookstore marks a further milestone in the successful turnaround of Barnes & Noble over the last four years. The long period of decline from 2009 to 2020 included the closures of over half the Barnes & Noble bookstores in NYC. Since then, the bookseller has opened new stores on the Upper East Side and on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, as well as refurbishing the Upper West Side bookstore. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2025.
“The store is transformed and I am especially pleased with the huge new kids department we have created,” said Store Manager Ikwo Ntekim. “All on the team of booksellers and baristas look forward to welcoming our customers back to Park Slope’s Barnes & Noble.”
Customers who visit the Park Slope Barnes & Noble for the grand re-opening will have access to exclusive deals, like $50 off of any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.
Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will receive a free hot coffee or tea on grand opening day, and will earn double stamps on all purchases made through grand opening weekend. Readers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.
