American Express Named One of the Best Workplaces for Women in the U.S. by Great Place to Work

We’re proud to announce that American Express is the highest-ranking financial services company and No. 3 on Great Place to Work’s 2025 list of Best Workplaces for Women, marking our fourth time in the top five overall.

Great Place to Work based its rankings on survey responses from nearly 605,000 women employed at Great Place to Work Certified companies in the U.S. Criteria included companies employing at least 50 women, having at least 20% of non-executive managers who are women, and having at least one female C-suite executive.

Among those surveyed, colleagues across American Express shared feedback describing a culture defined by trust, purpose and pride in the work they do together. As one colleague put it, “Amex has a lot of heart. Good leadership and good behaviors are exemplified every day. Everyone takes pride in their work and strives to do right by the customer every step of the way. Even in challenging moments, I know I have a safe and healthy environment to lean on and a team of colleagues who I can trust.
