The National Episcopal conference for single adults -- Solo Flight -- will assemble for its annual meeting in the Smoky Mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina, August 31-September 3.

Themed “Flying Solo -- on pilgrimage,” the conference will offer opportunities for those who are single in the Episcopal Church -- and their single friends from other traditions -- to grow spiritually, learn, and network with those who share similar values.

Participants will hear from keynote speaker the Rev. Dr. Brett Webb-Mitchell, founder and director of the School of the Pilgrim and author of “Follow Me: Christian Growth on Pilgrimage,” and listen to musician the Rev. J. Bruce Stewart, teacher, performer, and catalyst for creativity at the Center for Liturgy and the Arts in Annandale, Virginia.

These gatherings offer a form of institutional support, guidelines, and guided participation in making maps in the world of singleness, rituals and traditions for the journey, all based in the Eucharist celebration, and the belief that the only relationship that will not fail is the relationship through Jesus Christ.

Attendees will also join in workshops, presentations, evening fun and Episcopal worship, including the “Liturgy of Healing and Wholeness and Blessing of Singularity.”

Cost of the conference is $415/double occupancy, and $495/single occupancy (both include meals and program materials.)
