easyJet announces ambitious growth plans in Morocco and the launch of a new base in Marrakech from spring 2026

easyJet has announced ambitious growth plans in Morocco enabled by the establishment of a new three aircraft base in Marrakech, Morocco, from spring next year. This long-term partnership signed with the Moroccan National Tourism Office will allow the airline to offer a record 4 million seats in the first year of opening the base. The new permanent year-round base in Marrakech, will enable the creation of a hundred new jobs and thousands of indirect, and will cement the airline’s #2 position in Marrakech and extend its strong position in Morocco.

easyJet announced today the launch of 4 new routes to Morocco bringing the total number of routes to Morocco to 46. Hamburg, Lille and Strasbourg will be connected to Marrakech by easyJet from next summer onwards. In total easyJet will operate to 24 destinations from Marrakech. Geneva-Tangier will also launch as an exclusive route. Several existing routes will also see their frequencies increased. This development plan will also be reflected in the easyJet holidays proposition.

easyJet has a long history in Morocco, this year will be easyJet’s 20th serving the Moroccan market with around 20 million customers flown over that time. The routes portfolio enhancement will create more opportunities for travellers visiting Morocco for business, holidays or their friends and relatives.

In addition to enabling more routes to Morocco, the base will also allow easyJet to unlock capacity and offer new destinations at constrained airports across Europe.

Hamburg – Marrakech will be operated from 1 May 2026, twice a week (Tuesday and Friday)

Lille – Marrakech will be operated from 3 May 2026, twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday)

Strasbourg – Marrakech will be operated from 3 May 2026, twice a week (Thursday and Sunday).

Geneva – Tangier will be operated from 30 March 2026, twice a week (Monday and Thursday).
