Finavia, Finnair and Patria to be launching partners of the New Aviation Museum

Finavia, Finnair and Patria join as the first launching partners of the New Aviation Museum. The aim is to support the preservation of Finnish aviation history and to present the current state of aviation and future opportunities at the New Aviation Museum.

In the New Aviation Museum project, a new, memorable world-class destination will be built near Helsinki Airport in Aviapolis, Vantaa. The new museum concept combines exhibitions, digital experiences and events. The museum is being planned to become the attraction of the area, the living room of the neighbourhood and a meeting place for the aviation industry. The New Aviation Museum is set to be completed next to the current museum by the end of 2027.

Finavia, Finnair and Patria have worked closely together to develop Finnish aviation for decades. All three companies are founding members of the Finnish Aviation Museum Foundation, which maintains the Aviation Museum. Next, the long-term partnership in the field of culture and aviation heritage will continue as the operators support the construction of the New Aviation Museum.

The Finnish Aviation Museum was founded by volunteers just over 50 years ago to ensure the preservation of the unique artefacts and history of Finnish aviation. Today, the Aviation Museum is the national museum responsible for aviation. It also builds the societal impact and positive future of the aviation industry in cooperation with other operators. The New Aviation Museum project in a nutshell:

The New Aviation Museum will be completed next to the current museum as an attraction in the Aviapolis area in Vantaa at the turn of 2027-2028. The new museum will be completed with the help of state, city and private funding. Private funding will make it possible to create the exhibitions, provide services, and relocate and store the collections.

The Finnish Aviation Museum maintains and manages Finland’s largest aviation-themed collection. The museum’s collections focus on Finnish aviation and aircraft designed or used by Finns. The Aviation Museum is the national museum responsible for aviation, and the museum is maintained by the Finnish Aviation Museum Foundation.
