Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT) has received the 2007 Large Business Contractor of the Year award from the General Services Administration (GSA). The award is given on behalf of the GSA’s Center for Facilities Maintenance and Hardware, Schedule 51V, Hardware Store Program. The GSA presents this honor annually in recognition of a contractor’s growth, value to the federal marketplace, and contribution to the GSA Multiple Award Schedule program.

The award was conferred at the GSA 2007 Industry Day held on March 28 in Kansas City, Missouri. This one-day conference brings contractors together with GSA staff to establish and strengthen partnerships between the GSA and its schedule holders. The event offers valuable lessons for GSA contractors and provides insight into the Center’s business strategies planned for the coming year.

“This award signifies Applied’s success and commitment to growing our government sales business,” said Mike Coticchia, Chief Administrative Officer and Vice President of Government Business for Applied. “As a relatively new contractor, we are extremely honored and pleased to receive this honor.”
