Judy Newman Talks Literacy Access on the Impact Podcast

Judy Newman, Chief Impact Officer of Scholastic, appeared on the Impact Podcast with John Shegerian to share how Scholastic is working to close the literacy gap and ensure all children have access to books they want to read. 

“There’s a lot of kids who currently live in book deserts, who don’t have opportunities to choose and own their own books,” shared Judy. “As Chief Impact Officer, my goal is to activate new sources of interest, new sources of funding, and new sources of involvement to bring the tried-and-true Scholastic programs to kids who really need it.”

Judy’s conversation reflects the heart of Scholastic’s impact work to empower educators, families, and communities to support lifelong readers and learners.
