The Reading Glass Books Transforms into Click-and-Mortar Bookstore
Expanding opportunities for authors through consignment services.
The Reading Glass Books (RGB) officially announces its transition from a self-publishing house to a click-and-mortar bookstore model. With this shift, the New Jersey-based bookstore will focus on providing consignment services at its two established locations in Quaker Bridge Mall and Cumberland Mall.
This new direction reflects RGB’s mission to create opportunities rarely offered by commercial bookstores: dedicated shelf space for self-published authors. Through its consignment program, authors gain shelf presence in both stores, online catalog placement, and promotional support through social media, newsletters, and events.
Authors may choose between a monthly plan or an annual subscription per title. Each consignment requires a minimum of 30 books, with authors setting their own retail price and retaining 100 percent of sales revenue, supported by quarterly reports. In addition, annual subscriptions are entitled to showcase at a domestic or international book fair and a one-time book signing hosted at our physical bookstore locations—expanding visibility to wider audiences and new industry opportunities.
Since its founding in 2020, The Reading Glass Books has been a vibrant part of the community, celebrating the power of storytelling while supporting authors at every stage. This transition further strengthens its commitment to connecting writers with readers and ensuring that independent voices have a place on the shelf.
