Sarah Kinsley is pleased to share her first new music of the year with the euphoric and richly melancholic, dance-pop adjacent track, Fleeting.
All the emotions are excavated for the dancefloor in this emotionally charged and heady return that sparked a rush of inspiration and creativity for the young New Yorker. The song speaks to the wildness of how virtually everything deemed important to oneself is only transient - live in and for the moment with arms aloft and flailing.
Sarah Kinsley on Fleeting: “Fleeting is my catharsis: an anthem dedicated to the flood of change. It is my homage to the transience of what it means to be alive: who am I if every moment is fleeting.”
Written in the back of cabs zipping across New York City and produced alongside friend and collaborator Jake Aron, Fleeting is the introduction to a new Sarah Kinsley project, with more to be shared soon.
Back in the Autumn of 2024, Sarah Kinsley released her debut album ‘Escaper’. Produced with John Congleton, it was greeted with widespread critical acclaim that turned not only the heads of the critics but Chappell Roan too, who put the spotlight on Sarah’s talent via Instagram earlier this year. Escaper was a razor-sharp, leftfield pop record sculpted by a bright new talent who was already turning heads on TikTok with her smart, savvy snippets of music that also turned a camera on her production work too. Yet this was no ‘fleeting’ TikTok story, rather an initial introduction to a classically trained musician and self-taught producer/writer speaking to and from the heart.
That Sarah was asked to share stages across the US in support of Mitski, Weyes Blood, and Sylvan Esso offers a fair understanding of the creative musical worlds in which she comfortably orbits. And up on the stage with her band it all comes alive, selling out her headline shows right across the globe and back again.
Fleeting is arguably Sarah’s most potent work to date, an absolute rush of a song. Two steps forward, no steps back.
