"Dinosaur juice addict?" Polestar launches campaign against fossil fuels, supported by Climate Week NYC
Polestar (Nasdaq: PSNY), the electric performance brand, is partnering with Climate Week NYC to lift the lid on the impact of combustion engine cars on consumer’s lives and society through a dedicated campaign starting today, the 22 September.
The campaign brings attention to a common “toxic relationship”: the one between consumers and their gasoline cars. Posters across New York City and activations on social media channels during Climate Week NYC will feature messages like “Dinosaur juice addict?” or “Is it your dad’s fault? Call 1(888)260-1596 if you have a toxic relationship with gasoline”. The hotline provides arguments and facts on harmful fossil fuels and suggests a better alternative. Fredrika Klarén, Polestar Head of Sustainability, who will speak on Climate Week NYC’s flagship panel ‘The Challenge, the Change and the Tech’, says: “As many traditional car companies are back-tracking on their climate promises, we are doing the opposite. Polestar is committed to emission-free mobility, and we will continue to highlight the urgent need for an accelerated shift from combustion engine cars to electric ones – the most efficient and scalable alternative solution if we want our industry do its part to reduce climate change” Big cities are one of the places where the effects of combustion engine cars are most visible. With over half a million cars going into central Manhattan alone every day, the improvement potential on air quality and noise reduction is significant. Polestar’s participation at Climate Week NYC builds on its track record of sustainability leadership, including the Polestar 0 project – the company’s moonshot goal to deliver a truly climate-neutral car without offsets. The company recently launched Polestar 5, a performance GT embodying the brand’s sustainability ambition with 83% aluminum from smelters utilizing renewable electricity and 13% recycled aluminum.“At Climate Week NYC, we will challenge industry, policymakers and consumers to move beyond outdated technologies and accelerate the shift to clean mobility.”, says Fredrika Klarén.
