Vox Media, the leader in modern media, announced a strategic partnership with Hacks on Tap, a podcast hosted by political strategists David Axelrod and Mike Murphy, and journalist John Heilemann. Drawing from firsthand experience gained through hundreds of campaigns for offices from City Hall to the White House, each week on the show, Axelrod, Murphy, and Heilemann bring audiences behind the scenes of the biggest stories shaping American politics. Vox Media will assume sales, marketing, and distribution duties for the show, and explore new growth opportunities.

Hacks on Tap is moving to a classy watering hole,” say Axelrod, Murphy, and Heilemann. “We’re thrilled to be joining up with Vox Media, where smart political conversations so often find a home. And, Lord knows, there’s plenty to talk about these days. We hope you’ll join us!”

David Axelrod is renowned for his pivotal role as the chief strategist behind Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns, serving as a senior advisor to President Obama from 2009-2011. Beyond his campaign and podcast work, he founded the University of Chicago’s non-partisan Institute of Politics, shares his insights as a Chief Political Analyst on CNN, and is a New York Times bestselling author.

Mike Murphy is one of the Republican Party’s most successful political consultants, having handled strategy for more than 26 successful gubernatorial and senatorial campaigns, including those of Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also advises several Fortune 500 corporations, hedge funds, and trade associations. He is a writer, producer, and the co-director to USC’s Center for the Political Future.

John Heilemann is special correspondent and host of the podcast Impolitic with John Heilemann at Puck and national affairs analyst for MSNBC. Previously he was a creator, host, and executive producer of Showtime’s Emmy-nominated political docu-series The Circus; co-founder and executive editor of the online video news startup The Recount; and co-host of With All Due Respect on MSNBC and Bloomberg TV. A former staff writer for New York, The New Yorker, Wired, and The Economist, Heilemann is the co-author of the New York Times No 1. bestsellers Game Change and Double Down (about the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections) and author of Pride Before The Fall: The Trials of Bill Gates & The End of the Microsoft Era.

“Over the last six years, Hacks on Tap has become a must-listen for understanding American politics,” says Ray Chao, Vox Media’s SVP and general manager for audio and video. “David, Mike, and John bring decades of experience from different vantage points to have thoughtful conversations with plenty of room to respectfully disagree. We’re excited to work together to grow Hacks on Tap in this new chapter.”

Hacks on Tap will join one of the largest U.S. podcast publishers at Vox Media, a network that is home to some of the most influential shows and digital franchises including Pivot (hosted by journalist Kara Swisher and entrepreneur Scott Galloway), A Touch More (hosted by world-renowned athletes Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe), Waveform: The MKBHD Podcast (hosted by YouTuber Marques Brownlee), Stay Tuned (hosted by former Manhattan U.S. attorney Preet Bharara), Where Should We Begin?
