The Interaction Company of California today publicly launched Poke.com, an AI assistant that lives in messaging platforms (iMessage and SMS) and anticipates users’ needs before they ask. Poke connects to users’ email, calendar, and files, then acts on their behalf through simple text conversations – drafting replies, managing invoices, rescheduling meetings, booking travel, and more. Interaction also announced a $15 million seed round led by General Catalyst, along with Village Global, Earlybird VC, and angel investors including founders and executives of PayPal, CoinBase, Dropbox, Vercel, and Google. Users can sign up now at Poke.com.

The problem with today’s assistants

Today’s AI assistants live in their own apps and know almost nothing about your real life. They don’t see the emails, texts, receipts, and calendar changes that actually drive your day. So they answer in the abstract, not in context. And when they do help, you’re forced to copy-paste between apps, manage new logins, and learn yet another UI. Meanwhile, important tasks hide in noisy inboxes: unpaid invoices, flight changes, renewal notices, reschedule requests. Chatbots miss them or surface them too late. They also rarely take action across tools, so you end up doing the work anyway. The result is more prompts, more tabs, and more mental load, with no single place that understands both your work and personal life.

Poke.com’s Solution: One AI Assistant at your Finger Tips

Poke operates as a conversation in your existing messaging app, watching for actionable signals across connected accounts and responding with concise, relevant messages. The first few thousand beta users have exchanged over 750,000 messages with Poke, demonstrating near-perfect retention. The platform leverages industry-leading security standards including SOC 2 Type II and CASA Tier 2 certifications, with regular pentesting from cybersecurity firms. Pricing varies based on individual user needs.

“Users don’t want another app. They want to text an AI the same way they text their partner, friends, and colleagues,” explained Marvin von Hagen, co-founder and CEO of Interaction. “Poke provides this experience done right – short messages, one-tap actions, built with privacy as a foundation.”

Founders Marvin von Hagen and Felix Schlegel met at a middle school hackathon in Germany and previously co-founded TUM Boring, leading a 65-person team that built a 12-meter, 22-ton tunneling machine and won Elon Musk’s 2021 Not-a-Boring Competition. Team members have won IOI medals and come from institutions like Jane Street, Citadel, Apple, Tesla, MIT, and Stanford

“Sometimes you discover a user experience that feels like uncovering a hidden secret,” said Yuri Sagalov, Managing Director at General Catalyst. “Marvin and Felix did just that. The experience of interacting with Poke over iMessage is magical. It’s like having your best assistant be with you in the interface you already use every single day. It surfaces important emails, performs actions on your behalf, and continually delights and surprises you in the help it provides.”
