Kora Unveils World’s First Grid-Tied 4-in-1 Home Energy System

The 4-in-1 system offers industry leading 112KWh battery size at competitive prices, and is one of the first to allow customers to earn money by selling energy back to the grid

Sacramento, CA – WEBWIRE

Kora, today unveiled the nation’s first grid-tied 4-in-1 home energy system, integrating a smart panel, modular batteries called “Powerblocks” that include a hybrid inverter, the Kora Home App, and Kora Energy Trading into one platform. The company also announced $2.6 million in launch funding from Moneta Ventures, and Growth Factory Ventures to accelerate manufacturing and software development ahead of first customer shipments targeted for Q1 2026. Consumers’ problem: Multi-brand Home Energy Systems and Missed Earnings for Solar

Home energy systems are a patchwork of different brands and components. Historically most households start with solar and a solar inverter, add a battery later, occasionally bolt on third-party smart panels, and juggle multiple apps. That means higher cost, more failure points and connection hurdles, and limited control during outages or peak prices. Most homeowners are also stuck with only one way to sell power, their local utility that is a regulated monopoly. With Kora they will soon be able to sell power directly to the wholesale markets through Kora’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) called Kora Energy Trading, taking advantage of the new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Order 2222 deregulation. Competitors including Tesla, don’t offer a complete system that can operate both grid tied and grid islanded, causing homeowners to cobble together multiple brands that often do not communicate seamlessly or require multiple apps. It can also be frustrating for consumers if your battery disagrees with your smart panel on how much power you’re using, Kora solves all of that.

Kora’s Solution: The First Complete Home Power System

Kora is a complete system that gives homeowners circuit-level control, reliable backup, and real savings from day one. The Kora Smart Panel lets you decide which rooms and appliances stay on during an outage, no extra sub-panels required. The Kora app ties the entire stack,

panel, inverter, and batteries, into one seamless system that automatically shifts loads to cheaper power, stores energy when rates are low, and prioritizes solar first. Watch how Kora works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTZzXW6Y0EI

Those with Founders Edition reservations will also receive unlimited lifetime access to Kora Energy Trading, a platform that uses the system’s full capabilities to sell excess energy at wholesale market rates through Kora’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP). Early adopters have already cut $1,500 monthly bills to zero, and in peak months, some have even turned their homes into a source of income.

“Before founding Kora, I tried several of the leading home energy systems. The user experience was poor, the equipment was expensive, and the functionality was limited,” said Greg Connoly, Founder and CEO of Kora. “We built Kora to bring the industry into the AI age with one system that gives homeowners real control, reliable backup, and lower bills automatically from day one.”

World Class Team

Kora was founded by Greg Connolly, a veteran entrepreneur best known for building Trifecta into one of the largest e-commerce meal platforms where the company did more than $500M in revenue while he was CEO. He seeded Kora with personal capital before hiring a world class team of engineers from Apple, Sonnen and IBM and raising venture capital. Kora also has incredible community support from the growing chip manufacturing region of Sacramento. They are locating their headquarters in a tech hub suburb of the city Rancho Cordova with support from the city’s economic development fund.

“Rancho Cordova is excited to welcome Kora as they establish their headquarters right here in our city,” says Rancho Cordova Mayor Siri Pulipati. “This new company will bring research and development, innovative technology, and quality engineering jobs to our community and the greater region. Our city is committed to fostering an environment where cutting-edge technology companies can grow and thrive, and Kora’s decision to call Rancho Cordova home further underscores our reputation as a hub for innovation. We look forward to seeing Kora’s home energy system make an impact, locally, nationally, and beyond.”

The system is built for real-world conditions: NEMA 4X outdoor-rated enclosures, and temperature controlled batteries that operate down to –25 °C. quiet operation (under ~35 dB) It scales up to ~111.2 kWh of storage and supports up to 91.2 kW of solar input to reduce clipping on larger arrays. A sub-20 ms UPS switchover keeps critical loads online during blackouts. The Founders Edition carries a 12.5-year warranty across major components.

“We invested in Kora because they’re not just building smarter hardware,” said Jeff Olyniec, partner at Moneta Ventures. “They’re reinventing how homes and the grid interact, unlocking unlimited opportunities in energy independence and resilience.”
