Loganair celebrates major milestone at Orkney airport with gift of free flights

The milestone highlights the airline’s long-standing commitment to the Islands, providing essential air travel services to the mainland to support local communities and regional economic growth. Additionally, Loganair operates the vital Inter-Island services, connecting six of the islands through their airports – including Westray to Papa Westray, renowned as the world’s shortest commercial plane journey. 

To mark the occasion, Orkney locals Angus and Irene Thompson, both 69, were surprised with complimentary flight vouchers ahead of their flight to Edinburgh, a route they regularly use to visit family and friends in Scotland’s capital on special occasions, including Christmas and birthdays. 

Angus said: 

My wife and I will be celebrating our 70th birthdays this year, and winning these fantastic vouchers means we can spend extra time with our family celebrating these milestones. 

We’re regular users of Loganair’s services to the mainland as it’s the quickest and most convenient way for us to meet family and friends. Irene and I are very grateful to have been Loganair’s 800,000th passengers, and we’re looking forward to enjoying more time with family and friends.
