Tribeca Announces Can’t-Miss Lineup of Membership Events

Tribeca has unveiled its latest Membership events, offering insider screenings, premieres, and exclusive conversations with actors, directors, and leading voices in entertainment.

From an intimate evening with filmmaker and actress Francesca Scorsese at Casa Cipriani to in-depth conversations with acclaimed actors Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater, members get unprecedented access to the creative forces shaping culture right now. The slate will kick off with a special screening of GRIFFIN IN SUMMER – winner of the 2024 Tribeca Festival Founders Award – starring Everett Blunck, Melanie Lynskey, Owen Teague, Abby Ryder Fortson, and Kathryn Newton. Following that will be a special advanced screening of MUBI’s THE HISTORY OF SOUND, starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor; the New York Premiere of the found-footage horror film IN OUR BLOOD, the narrative feature debut of Emmy-winning filmmaker Pedro Kos; and the World Premiere of the highly anticipated third season of CBS’s critically acclaimed comedy series ELSBETH, starring Carrie Preston and Wendell Pierce, ahead of its October 12 premiere. Tribeca Membership events happen year-round, with new experiences announced regularly.

The slate builds on a standout year of Membership programming, featuring early screenings of the indie comedy BOB TREVINO LIKES IT (John Leguizamo, Barbie Ferreira); world premieres including HBO Max’s horror comedy THE PARENTING (Parker Posey), Paramount Pictures’ animated SMURFS, and FX on Hulu’s comedy miniseries DYING FOR SEX (Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate); plus a sneak preview of Lionsgate’s genre anthology FREAKY TALES (Pedro Pascal, Jay Ellis, Ben Mendelsohn). “Griffin in Summer” – August 27 at Regal Union Square
Griffin Nafly (Everett Blunck) is the most ambitious playwright of his generation. He’s also fourteen years old and living with his parents in a humdrum suburb while dreaming of moving to New York City. When his mom (Melanie Lynskey) hires a handsome 25-year-old handyman (Owen Teague), Griffin’s life and his new play take an inspired turn. Also starring Kathryn Newton and Abby Ryder Fortson.

Special Advance Screening of “The History of Sound” – September 10 at Tribeca Film Center
Starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor, “The History of Sound” is a sweeping, moving, and tender romance that spans decades and continents. In 1917, Lionel (Mescal, “Aftersun”) – a young, talented music student – meets David (O’Connor, “Challengers”) at the Boston Conservatory, where a connection over a deep love of music leads to a fleeting love affair. They reconnect years later, leading to an impromptu journey through the backwoods of Maine to collect traditional folk songs. This unexpected reunion and the music they preserve will shape the course of Lionel’s life for decades to come. From director Oliver Hermanus (“Living”), this is a beautiful and compelling cinematic experience that tells the story of a love that can’t last, a life forever altered, and the ways in which music creates bonds between us that echo for a lifetime.

Join Tribeca and NeueHouse on September 24 for an evening celebrating the vibrant creative community of New York City. The program will feature a panel of industry voices exploring the evolving landscape of culture and storytelling, with an opportunity to connect with fellow members and creatives.

Conversation with Francesca Scorsese – September 30 at Casa Cipriani
A multi-talented artist on the rise, Francesca Scorsese has already proven to be a double threat in the filmmaking and storytelling spaces. As an actress, she’s starred in co-creator and director Luca Guadagnino’s lauded HBO series “We Are Who We Are” and in the IFC Films ensemble comedy “Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point,” in addition to appearances in her father Martin Scorsese’s films “The Departed,” “The Aviator,” and “Hugo.” She’s also a filmmaker, having made short films that have played at the 2022 Tribeca Festival (“Crimson Ties”) and the 2023 Cannes Film Festival (“Fish Out of Water”). Tribeca is thrilled to host a special evening with Francesca Scorsese at Casa Cipriani, during which she’ll sit down for an intimate one-on-one conversation all about her life in and around film and her ascending career.

World Premiere of “Elsbeth” Season 3 – October 8 at AMC Lincoln Square 13
Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston returns as Elsbeth Tascioni, the cunning yet unconventional consent decree attorney working with the NYPD to track down New York’s most well-heeled murderers utilizing her unique intuitive insight. The critically acclaimed series enters its third season with fresh cases, new characters, and unexpected challenges for Elsbeth and the 11th Precinct, led by her boss, Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce). “Elsbeth” is based on the character featured in “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight.”

New York Premiere of “In Our Blood” – October 11 at LOOK Cinemas
Nothing is as it seems when filmmaker Emily Wyland (Brittany O’Grady) teams up with cinematographer Danny (E.J. Bonilla) to shoot an intimate documentary about reuniting with Emily’s estranged mother after a decade apart. When her mother suddenly goes missing, possibly succumbing to the addictions that first tore her family apart, Emily and Danny must piece together increasingly sinister clues to find her before it’s too late.

Conversation with Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater – December 9 at Casa Cipriani
A Hollywood power couple made up of two of your favorite actors’ favorite actors, Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater boast quite the combined resume, often working together. Earlier this year, Rabe and Linklater starred in Ibsen’s Ghosts at Lincoln Center. They previously worked opposite one another on stage in Shakespeare in the Park’s Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, and Cymbeline, as well as on Broadway in Seminar. On screen, they have worked together numerous times including in the Amazon series TELL ME YOUR SECRETS, their directorial debut DOWNTOWN OWL, and Kogonada’s A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY coming out this fall. Separately, Lily’s on screen credits include THE TENDER BAR, MISS STEVENS, THE UNDOING, AHS, LOVE AND DEATH, THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, and SHRINKING. Hamish has starred in MIDNIGHT MASS, LEGION, GASLIT, THE FUTURE, THE BIG SHORT, NICKEL BOYS, and the upcoming GEN V, among many others between them.
