The Future of Mixed-Reality Combat: Spatial Ops Update Brings New Enemies, More Customization, bHaptics Support

On the heels of winning this year’s “Best Game or Toy” category at this year’s Auggie Awards, Resolution Games has today issued the latest update for competitive mixed-reality shooter, Spatial Ops. Today’s “Pulse Protocol” update to Spatial Ops in the Meta Horizon and PICO stores brings a wave of new content, gameplay refinements, and bHaptics support for players to experience an entirely new layer of sensory immersion.

New Features for Arena Mode (Meta Quest only) - Arena mode now features:

• In-Game Spatial Marker: Generate, print, and place Spatial Markers in your environment, then use them to create maps. The markers ensure reliable, precise alignment of both maps and player positions during matches.
   
• A Broader Roster of Enemies: Introducing advanced Hatchet Corp soldiers and their Infected counterparts—each bringing unique weapons and tactics to the battlefield. From revolver-wielding Guards to RPG-armed Rocketeers, every match promises fresh challenges and new strategies.
   
• Permanent Death Mode: Configure high-stakes matches with one-team or both-teams permadeath.
   
• Weapon Spawner Preview: See and place weapons more intuitively in the map editor.
   
• Bot Spawning Sound Toggle: Create stealth-focused missions without unwanted alerts.
  

Gameplay & Quality-of-Life Enhancements (Meta Quest & PICO)

• bHaptics Support for TactSuit, TactSleeve and TactVisor - With this integration, players outfitted with bHaptics gear will experience an entirely new layer of sensory immersion. Feel the impact of incoming fire, weapon and item use, and explosive encounters as they happen—directly through precise, real-time tactile feedback across your body.
   
• In-Game Achievement Tracking for seamless progress monitoring.
   
• Horizontal Grip Angle Offset for improved weapon handling.
   
• Campaign Balancing for easier 5-star achievements.
