The player, who has been training at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar since 2020 and recently reached the semifinals of Roland Garros, achieved the biggest title of his career at the All England Tennis Club.

Back at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, Ivanov expressed his joy following the victory “For me, it was a great experience to play there and compete at Wimbledon. Playing on the grass courts at Wimbledon is something incredible. Competing against all the players there was a pleasure. To me, it’s the most beautiful tournament, and I enjoyed every moment. This is the biggest achievement in my career so far, and definitely something to aspire to. I want to keep going on the same path and keep working hard”. .

The 16-year-old tennis player talks about the inspiration that it represents for him. Rafa Nadal. “[b]He inspires me in so many ways. I mean, he’s the best example you could have—how he adapts to grass, the way he plays his style, his fighting spirit. Everything about him is admirable. Ivanov felt Rafa’s presence closely throughout the Grand Slam . “He was there giving advice to the whole group and it was very helpful. I mean, having a person like that, having such an example so close to you, is something not many people have, and I can only get the best from him and learn.”

The Bulgarian tennis player is clear about the influence the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar has had on his promising career. “It’s helped me in everything: I train here, I sleep here, I study here… So for me, it’s a great place to be, it’s incredible, and yes, I’m very happy to play here.”

“I have a great team working with me at the academy, and they were with me at Wimbledon, which made me very happy. They help me all the time while I’m here during the process, so I’m very grateful to them,” Ivanov says.

Finally, when asked about his next goals , Ivanov is clear: “For me, being number one in the Junior rankings is incredible; finishing the year as number one would be even better, and it’s a motivation and a reflection of my hard work so far.”
