Neuromorph Systems Research Lab (NSRL) Launches Tessera to Combat AI Misinformation in Research with Evidence-Anchored Explanations
Neuromorph Systems Research Lab (NSRL) Launches Tessera with evidence-linked explanations for academic papers—and now a discovery hub for fresh, trending, and code-backed AI research
"We didn’t want another generic summary site. Tessera aligns every claim to evidence you can inspect. And with our new discovery spine—fresh papers, implementations, and model pages—you can jump from idea to working code without losing the citations."
Neuromorph Systems Research Lab (NSRL) today announced the public launch of Tessera, a research tool that turns dense academic papers into faithful, evidence-linked explanations. With Tessera, every sentence in a summary or Q&A is anchored to the exact passage, figure, or equation in the source—so readers can cite with confidence and accelerate their understanding.
Tessera integrates trusted open infrastructure—arXiv, Crossref, OpenAlex, Unpaywall, and Zenodo—to fetch metadata, verify open-access links, and surface code and datasets. The interface pairs a clean reading view with an evidence panel, results tables you can export, figure narrations, equation glossaries, and an always-visible provenance rail showing DOI, license, and version.
What’s new
-
Evidence-linked reading: TL;DR, What’s New, Methods, Results, and Limitations—each line clicks back to exact source spans.
-
Ask with citations: Natural-language questions answered only when Tessera can show the lines it relies on.
-
Results you can export: Key numbers and metrics auto-extracted into tidy tables (CSV/BibTeX one-click).
-
Provenance rail: DOI, license, version, code, data, and an audit trail of retrieval sources—always visible.
-
Discovery, rebuilt: A new Discover page surfaces Fresh Discoveries, Trending papers, With Code implementations, and Hot Models, integrating open metadata (including Hugging Face’s Papers & Models) to connect literature with practice.
-
Model pages: Rich pages for popular models with technical specs, download/like stats, documentation (sanitized Markdown), accessibility-friendly layout, and safety-minded rendering.
Tessera now creates permanent, crawlable pages for papers and models, with structured data (JSON-LD), canonical URLs, and dynamic sitemaps—so authoritative, evidence-linked explanations are easy to find via search. Pages are indexed only when they meet quality thresholds (open access confirmed, sufficient evidence links, and unique copy), keeping results useful and trustworthy.
How it worksPaste a DOI or arXiv link. Tessera resolves metadata (arXiv, Crossref, OpenAlex), confirms open-access links (Unpaywall), parses sections/figures/equations, and aligns explanations to exact source spans. If a claim can’t be tied to a span, Tessera won’t show it.
AvailabilityTessera is available today at https://tessera.ink. Pro features (batch exports, collections, priority queue) are available with launch pricing.
About TesseraTessera is a research tool by Neuromorph Systems Research Lab (NSRL) that provides faithful, evidence-linked explanations of academic papers and richly annotated model pages. Every claim is anchored directly to source text, figures, or equations—so researchers, students, journalists, and policy analysts can cite with confidence and accelerate understanding.
