African Methodist Episcopal Missionary Mary Venable-Vaughn Prepares for a Book Signing of “Members Class 102 Manual,” Offering an Essential Resource for New and Seasoned AME Church Members

For more than two decades, Missionary Mary Venable-Vaughn served alongside her late husband, Rev. Emmanuel J. Vaughn, Sr., educating new members of their African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church congregation. As dedicated leaders in one of the oldest historically Black denominations in the United States, their mission has always been to nurture spiritual growth and provide meaningful direction to new believers.

Yet even with such deep roots, the AME Church’s unique doctrines and historical legacy are not always easy for newcomers to grasp. Recognizing this challenge, Mary—both a seasoned missionary and educator—spent years observing, collecting, and organizing key teachings and historical insights of the church. Her dedication has culminated in the release of a much-needed revived resource:

Now, Mary Venable-Vaughn is bringing her book to a broader audience with a featured appearance at the Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago. In partnership with the self-publishing and book marketing firm ReadersMagnet, she will host a special book signing session to introduce her manual to readers, church leaders, and curious seekers alike at an upcoming book festival in Printers Row later this year.
