Amit Midha Joins Lenovo Board of Directors

Lenovo Group Limited (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) announced the appointment of Mr. Amit Midha as a non-executive director of the company. He is the Chief Executive Officer at Alat, and he will join a group of twelve other globally diverse directors serving on Lenovo’s board.

Lenovo’s strategic collaboration with Alat represents a pivotal step in Lenovo’s global manufacturing expansion and further expands the Group’s opportunity to capture growth opportunities in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Following the completion of a US$2 billion investment (via three-year zero-coupon convertible bonds) in January 2025, the two companies are establishing a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia to produce millions of devices a year, with factory operations expected to begin by 2026. This collaboration creates job opportunities in the MEA region and positions the future of the region as a center of innovation. Additionally, Lenovo is establishing a regional headquarters in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

About Mr. Amit Midha

Mr. Amit Midha currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Alat, a company owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.  In this role, he leads the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s vision to transform global industries in electronics and advanced industrials, positioning Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a world-class manufacturing hub.

Prior to joining Alat in February 2023, Mr. Midha was responsible for Dell’s growth in Asia Pacific and Japan, overseeing a multi-billion-dollar business spanning more than 40 countries. In his last role at Dell, he served as the President of Asia Pacific and Japan, and as the Executive Vice President of Global Digital Cities where he focused on digital city initiatives for public-sector entities around the world. He received the CEO of the year in Information Technology from Bloomberg in 2010. Mr. Midha has been a non-executive director of GNG Electronics Ltd (National Stock Exchange of India listed) since November 2024.

Mr. Midha holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia, the United States, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore, India.
