Liebherr Locations will be Certified to Service John Deere-Powered OEM Equipment in Europe

MUNICH, GERMANY — John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) and Liebherr have announced at the Bauma Construction Trade Fair that Liebherr service locations will be able to service John Deere-powered OEM Equipment. Liebherr service locations are an addition to the existing John Deere agricultural dealer and John Deere engine distributor networks and service points. This agreement could expand the John Deere engine service network by more than 150 locations throughout Europe.

The deal between the two companies utilizes Liebherr dealer and branch locations in Europe to provide John Deere’s customers one of the most extensive engine service networks in the world, with more than 4,000 locations overall. Liebherr dealers will provide full service for John Deere engines in Liebherr products and in John Deere-powered OEM equipment for the industrial and construction markets.

“Liebherr is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction machinery, and we’re very pleased to enter into this expanded service relationship,” said John Piasecki, Director of Worldwide Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support for JDPS.

JDPS will integrate the European Liebherr dealers over a 12-month period. “By partnering with Liebherr and using their service network, we will be able to increase our already sizeable number of service locations by 150 or more in Europe. This enables us to provide even better support to our U.S. customers exporting equipment to this part of the world, as well as to our European OEM construction equipment customers,” said Jacques Febvre, Manager of Engine Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. “We will look at the opportunities to expand this agreement to other global markets in the future,” Febvre added.

The Liebherr dealerships will be staffed by technicians fully trained and certified to do warranty work on John Deere-powered OEM equipment. These new locations will provide all the benefits offered by current John Deere service locations.

“We are very pleased to partner with John Deere Power Systems in this venture,” said Hermann Moll, Managing Director (Sales) of the Liebherr Earthmoving Division. “John Deere and Liebherr have enjoyed a successful business partnership for years, and the John Deere reputation around the world is such that we knew our dealers would see a great benefit in offering John Deere engine service support.”

John Deere currently provides engines for Liebherr compact loaders, crawler loaders and telehandlers sold in Europe, and Liebherr provides compact loaders, crawler dozers and crawler loaders to complement John Deere construction equipment in the United States and Canada.

In addition to the already well known networks of John Deere agricultural dealers and OEM engine distributors, end-users will receive the benefit of having many more locations to get their engines serviced. Customers who own Liebherr equipment and other John Deere-powered OEM equipment will soon have the advantage of taking more of their equipment to the same service location. In addition, owners of John Deere-powered OEM equipment will have a service network targeted specifically to construction equipment owners.
