This book is her version of the “stack of stones” that Joshua used to create a memorial to God across the Jordan River, as narrated in the Bible. The story takes its readers back to when Virginia was still married to her first love, John Thomas (Tommy) Barnett, Jr. The couple was on a mission to share the words of God in Liberia. They lived in contentment until Tommy’s demise in a tragic plane crash. Virginia experienced grief and sadness as she had to move on with their children. This time, they had to move back to Texas.

Eventually, Virginia met Les, who would become her second husband. Both lived happy lives, as they had shared the same interest in spreading the words of God. The couple went on to teach God’s lessons in the Philippines, where they spent years guiding the people and sharing their paths to salvation.

“Our God Still Speaks” is written to honor God and to reflect on how He answers our prayers. The story is a testament to the fact that God is always there, especially when people need His blessings and guidance.
