Ravening Is Back
Goal scoring midfielder returns
Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the return of Millie Ravening, an attacking midfielder renowned for her goal scoring at tier three level.
The 23-year-old scored 61 times in her previous three seasons as a Claret, including 30 in 31 matches that earned her the Club’s 2022/23 Player of the Season award.
After confirming her return, she said: “It feels good to be back!
“It’s a fresh environment and I’m ready to get stuck in with the girls.
“I loved my previous time at Burnley and it’s an amazing place to be. The Club is on the up every year and we’re full-time this year too, so I can’t wait to play football every day with my friends.
“Matt (Beard) has come in and he’s won things before. He’s a winner and I think all the girls here are on the same path, so we’ll put our heads together as a family and try and win it.”
Ravening grew up in the academies of Manchester United and Manchester City, spending six years at United and five at the Cityzens.
She joined Burnley ahead of the 2021/22 season, managing 17 goals as the Clarets finished 4th in her debut year.
2022/23 was a fruitful campaign for the midfielder, who took on the vice captaincy and finished as the league’s joint top goal scorer.
A further 14 strikes came in 2023/24 before she moved to Stoke City, and Ravening produced yet more impressive numbers with 26 goals in all competitions last season.
One of those was a fantastic long-range strike against Burnley at Turf Moor, and the 23-year-old is now looking forward to pulling on the Claret shirt again going forwards.
