Armando Broja departs Chelsea
Armando Broja has completed a permanent transfer to Burnley.
The striker joined the Chelsea Academy as an Under-9 and was continuously developed as he rose through the youth ranks at Cobham. Armando received a call-up to Albania’s Under-21s while still a first-year scholar and followed that by scoring 23 goals in 33 games during the 2019/20 season.
That form saw Armando sign a professional contract with Chelsea, and his first-team debut arrived as a late substitute in a win over Everton in March 2020. He was also part of the squad for the Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich a few months later.
The Albania international enjoyed a successful loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem the following season, scoring 11 goals in 34 appearances, before an impressive stint at Southampton during the 2021/22 campaign, netting nine times in 38 outings.
Armando gained further Premier League experience with loans at Fulham and Everton across the past two seasons.
In total, he made 11 starts and 27 substitute appearances for Chelsea’s first team, scoring three goals.
We thank Armando for all his efforts in Blue and wish him every success in the future.
