Ren McClellan Combines Redemptive Christian Love with Christmas Romance in Novel “A Promise of Love by Christmas”
Even when she’s old enough to be a great-grandmother, Ren McClellan still wishes to use her gift of writing to inspire the younger generation with more wholesome, Christian alternatives to mainline entertainment. Among her most recently published projects is the romance novel “A Promise of Love by Christmas,” which tells the story of a broken-hearted woman redeeming her love life’s unhappy ending. McClellan has arranged for a book display at an upcoming book fest at Printers Row, Chicago.
“A heartwarming Christmas tale that shows how even the saddest love stories can find redemption in Jesus.”
Ren McClellan is a devoted pastor’s wife and an even more devoted Christian. For most of her life, she had always been in service to her faith community. She graduated from the Kidmin Academy with a diploma in children’s ministry and also worked in drug rehabilitation.
But even today, while long retired and already a great-grandmother, she wants to take part in the popular Christian mission of providing wholesome, faith-based alternatives to the newest generation. In her case, it is in the world of writing romance novels as well as poetry.
It is why she has been excited to promote her most recently published project titled “A Promise of Love by Christmas.” The book is her attempt to put a classic spin on holiday romances and it follows the story of a woman grappling with a yet unresolved (and unhappy) ending to her previous love life.
Set in the rockier part of Colorado, the novel opens with its main protagonist Danielle shut inside her home due to a frosty storm. It has been two years since the previous love of her life Garrett left for absolutely no clear reason. As the story goes on, readers will learn just how much of a struggle it has been for her to move on due to so much left unresolved. Towards the end, however, McClellan hopes that she managed to show how the redemptive love of Jesus can turn even something as heartbreaking as Danielle’s predicament into something beautiful.
After publishing, Ren McClellan has already arranged to have the book exhibited in various fairs and publishing conventions at different parts of the U.S. Those who would like to check it out can start at an upcoming book festival at Printers Row on September 6-7, 2025, at South Dearborn Street, from Ida B. Wells to Polk Street, Chicago. Festivalgoers can find the book displayed at self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit.
“A Promise of Love by Christmas” is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ReadersMagnet Bookstore.
