Renaii West Kicks Off New Promotion Run for Her Award-Winning Fire Dancing Mystery Novel

Since she was young, author Renaii West has had a passion for all the creative arts, particularly in performance and creative writing. Today, she is not only the author of two mystery novels, but those works have scored much praise from reviewers and some notable awards. One of these is “The Wrong Side of the Flame,” and West will soon have this book on its own promotional run in the hopes that it will delight more fans of mystery novels with a side of kink.

For mystery author Renaii West, her works of fiction were once just little creative exercises she wanted to play around with. She has a love for mysteries and enjoys creating a wide variety of quirky characters who find themselves in the middle of them. It was something she did on the side, while pursuing her career as a dramatic arts instructor and directing her own productions.

Nowadays, though, some of those exercises have ended up becoming highly praised novels that have even garnered a few awards.

One of these is a mystery novel titled “The Wrong Side of the Flame: A Brighid LaFlamme Mystery,” and it casts an unlikely yet unbelievably sharp protagonist as its amateur detective.

The book was the second-place winner of the BookFest Award for Cozy Mystery as well as the third-place winner for Women Sleuth. It follows Brighid LaFlamme, leader of a fire performance circle fondly dubbed the Fire Buddies.

For the most part, they pursue their love for fire dancing and pyrotechnical stunts very well, having become favorites in local Renaissance fairs as well as the adult entertainment and kink scenes.

Still, things take a darker turn when a close member of the group dies under the oddest of circumstances. Determined to find the truth, she and her friends gradually develop budding talents for investigating mysteries while also confronting the uncomfortable side of ambition.

After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she became the dramatic arts instructor in a performing arts program, where she wrote and directed many of her own productions. Desiring to spread her creative wings, she is now creating fun-loving and sometimes quirky characters who find themselves in the middle of a mystery and must use their wits and cunning to solve the case.
