SPAR Denmark continues to expand its store network
SPAR Denmark is dedicated to expanding its presence and catering to the needs of both local residents and tourists. This commitment is evident in opening new SPAR Supermarkets that blend modern convenience with community values. SPAR Supermarkets were opened on the tourist favourite island of Rømø, in the new Nordborg Center Parcs holiday resort, and in Vindinge where it is the only supermarket in town.New SPAR Supermarket on Rømø in the heart of the community
SPAR Denmark opened a new SPAR Supermarket on Rømø, an island in the south of the country. Previously trading as a competitor, the store was converted to the SPAR brand following expansion of its footprint and modernisation. This 700m² supermarket offers freshly baked bread, fresh Danish fruits and vegetables, and classic summer favourites, catering to both residents and tourists.
Experienced retailer Marianne Nissen, who has managed the store at this location for over 20 years, is deeply rooted in the community. The new SPAR Supermarket provides an extensive product range, a modern store design, a mini golf area, a café, and a strong sense of community.
First SPAR Supermarket in a Danish holiday resortOn 18 June, a SPAR Supermarket opened in the brand-new Nordborg Center Parcs holiday resort. This marks the first time in SPAR Denmark’s history that a SPAR supermarket was opened in a holiday resort. Positioning itself as Denmark’s local supermarket, this highlights how SPAR Denmark meets customer requirements at all times, even on a holiday.
This modern SPAR Supermarket is led by retailer Tina Søe Gosvig, who has been involved in the entire planning process. It offers an extensive range of Danish products sourced from local suppliers to meet the needs of both everyday life and holiday grocery shopping.
“We see it as a unique opportunity to show our strength in a new context – and make holiday shopping both easy, local, and present,” said SPAR Denmark’s CEO, Esben Keller.
SPAR Supermarket in Vindinge ensures local supplyIn the town of Vindinge, west of Copenhagen, a new and modern SPAR Supermarket was opened in the first quarter of the year. The 600m² supermarket is led by experienced retailer Michael Møller Jørgensen and offers an extensive product range with a strong focus on fresh and local products. Customers can also find a large selection of delicatessen and a broad wine offer.
SPAR Vindinge is much more than a supermarket. It was created by citizens for citizens. 400 residents joined forces and became shareholders of the town’s new supermarket when the former and only supermarket in town needed modernisation.
“At SPAR, it’s not just about filling the shopping cart – it’s about being an active part of the local community and creating a store that suits the customers’ needs,” said SPAR retailer Michael Møller Jørgensen.
