Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in York

Author Lucy Score to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening at 9AM on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025

York, PA – WEBWIRE

Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its new York bookstore on Wednesday, July 2nd. The new Barnes & Noble is located in York Town Center (2935 Concord Rd, York, PA 17402), in the space formerly occupied by Christmas Tree Shops, next to Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The new Barnes & Noble will officially open to the public at 9AM EST on Wednesday the 2nd, with author Lucy Score cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her books. Lucy Score is the author of instant bestsellers including Things We Never Got Over and her newest release, Story of My Life. Both are available in deluxe and exclusive editions in Barnes & Noble bookstores nationwide.

The bookstore showcases the highly lauded design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

“We are very pleased to be opening a beautiful, brand-new Barnes & Noble in York Town Center,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “Our experienced booksellers have been filling the shelves with books tailored to their neighbors in York and look forward to welcoming customers into this impressive new Barnes & Noble.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2025.

The York location is one of six new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in July, alongside new stores in Maryland, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Texas and Virginia. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

“We are thrilled to bring Barnes & Noble to the White Rose City,” said Store Manager Jeff Young, Barnes & Noble bookseller of 25 years. “We are excited to welcome the community to their new neighborhood bookstore!”
