ProactiveNet Named A ‘Strong Performer’ In New Business Service Management Market Research

SANTA CLARA, CALIF - ProactiveNet, Inc. has been rated as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave: Business Service Management, Q1 2007.

In its comprehensive assessment of the BSM market, Forrester notes that BSM is changing the way in which vendors build management software and how IT organizations use management software. Forrester states that while there are dozens of vendors that use the BSM term in their marketing, the firm has focused on a manageable shortlist of vendors that it considers to provide true BSM value to its clients.

In its supplemental report to the BSM Wave, titled ProactiveNet Uses Superior Analytics to Improve Business Service Management, Forrester analysts noted ProactiveNet’s analytical approach to BSM. In that report, co-authors Peter O’Neill and Evelyn Hubbert wrote, “ProactiveNet is unique, as it provides BSM via an analytics engine that correlates massive volumes of performance data from across the entire infrastructure, narrowing the many potential causes of a service problem to a manageable few to speed problem resolution efforts.”

When describing the criteria IT organizations should use to select a BSM solution, Forrester BSM Wave co-authors O’Neill and Hubbert write, “The most important criteria to look at when selecting a BSM solution is the product’s ability to collect and leverage raw data from existing systems and data sources.” In the report, ProactiveNet scored higher than any other vendor for its data collection capabilities.

The product’s robust, out-of-the-box data collectors and adapters integrate with all leading systems management and third party tools, while its innovative Monitor Wizards enable administrators to easily build custom monitors to collect data on virtually any application or business performance metric within the IT infrastructure.
