Hartman Makes Clarets Move
Netherlands international joins Burnley
Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of full-back Quilindschy Hartman from Eredivisie side Feyenoord for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old defender, who joins the Clarets on a four-year deal, has played nearly 100 top-flight games in the Netherlands and has an Eredivisie title to his name.
Hartman, who becomes Scott Parker’s second summer signing, said: “It’s a really special feeling of hunger and excitement.
“From the first moment I spoke to the coach, I was really excited and impressed and I would say he was the biggest influence in me coming here.
“I’m so glad the deal is now done, I’m really proud to be here and I can’t wait to start next week.”
Born in Zwijndrecht, Hartman spent time in the academies of VVGZ and Excelsior as a youngster, before joining the Feyenoord academy in 2010.
After progressing through the ranks, the left-back signed his first professional contract in June 2020 and was handed his senior debut for the Dutch side in August 2022, with his first goal for the club coming three months later.
Hartman went on to finish his debut season with over 30 appearances, as Feyenoord won the Eredivisie title for the first time in six years.
Established within the side, the full-back became a regular for the 2023/24 campaign, playing 38 games, as well as receiving a first senior call-up to the Netherlands, where he marked his national team debut in October 2023 with a goal against France in a Euro 2024 Qualifier.
Although an injury hampered the Dutchman’s start to last season, the defender returned to the side for the second-half of the campaign, playing 12 games.
Hartman now arrives in Lancashire with plenty of top-flight experience as Burnley’s second signing of the week.
