Jean-Andre Barbosa appointed Director of Public Affairs at Renault Group

As of July 1st, Jean-Andre Barbosa will become Director of Public Affairs at Renault Group. Reporting to François Provost, Chief of Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs of Renault Group, he will be responsible for all public affairs activities across the Group.

Currently VP in charge of European affairs and regulatory affairs for France, Jean-Andre Barbosa will now expand his responsibilities to include international affairs and matters related to competitiveness. His team will be tasked with advocating for Renault Group’s interests with stakeholders across all markets where the Group operates.

A graduate of Ecole des Mines de Paris and Chief Engineer of the Corps des Mines, Jean-Andre began his career at the European Commission, within the Directorate-Generals for Trade and Energy, where he notably took part in the Doha Round negotiations at the WTO and in various energy-related negotiations with third countries. Between 2008 and 2020, he held senior executive positions in several multinational private groups, including Saint-Gobain, where he was appointed Managing Director for the CIS region within the packaging division, and AREVA, where he served as Director for Central and Eastern Europe, with responsibility in particular for public affairs. In 2020, he returned to the European Commission to join the expert team of the Chief Economist at DG Energy. On September 1, 2022, he joined Renault Group as Head of European public affairs and regulatory affairs for France. He also served as sherpa to Luca de Meo during his presidency of ACEA in 2023 and 2024.
