In the EU30 market for May, Stellantis strengthens its leadership in hybrid car sales and commercial vehicles. The positive trend in order intake continues

AMSTERDAM – WEBWIRE
  • May sees a significant leap in hybrid* car sales[sup][1][/sup] by Stellantis in the EU30 market: a share of 16% and an increase of 4.9 percentage points. The PEUGEOT brand is consistently growing in this segment (+3.8 percentage points).
  • Similar performance for commercial vehicles. The Stellantis Pro One family confirms its market leadership with a share of 29.9%, up by 3.1 percentage points. Stellantis brands are also leading in 8 of the 10** major European markets YTD.
  • Order intake is also positive: +8% compared to May 2024. May and YTD Stellantis remains in second place for total sales in the EU30 market, while maintaining its leadership in the markets of France, Italy, and Portugal. For the year-to-date, 3 Stellantis models are among the top 10 best sellers: PEUGEOT 208 and 2008, Citroën C3.
  • In Portugal, where Stellantis remains the undisputed leader in the total market, a particular performance stands out: in May, the two best-selling cars were the PEUGEOT 2008 (also the best seller for the year-to-date) and Citroën C3.
  • The new Citroën C3 also performs well in its electric version, establishing itself as the leader in BEV sales in Spain and grabbing the second place in France.
  • In Italy, May and YTD, FIAT Panda is the best seller in the total market, and Jeep® Avenger is the best-selling SUV, while Alfa Romeo records another great performance: +31% in sales on a YTD base, with Alfa Romeo Junior reigning in the premium B-SUV segment.
  • Belgium records the best market share in 20 months with an increase of 4.4 percentage points vs. May 2024, while in Austria, the share growth (+2.7 percentage points) is accompanied by a volume jump: +45%.
  • Finally, in Germany, Opel Corsa is B-Hatch segment leader with a share of 14.3%, and confirms its best-seller status in the UK, once again outperforming all competitors in the B segment.
  • And the first units of FIAT Grande Panda have just been delivered to the final customers…

In recent months, Stellantis has progressively gained market share in the hybrid vehicle segment within the EU30 market, eventually reaching the top: now May marks a further, decisive leap forward. Luca Napolitano, Commercial Operations Officer for Stellantis, emphasizes: "The recorded progression, almost 5 percentage points, is not coincidental. We are actually reaping the benefits of the strategic decision made in the second half of 2024, when we widened our line-up of hybrid vehicles to meet the demands directly expressed by the market"

Luca Napolitano continues: "Another decidedly positive signal comes from a new confirmation of the trend observed in previous months: even May in fact stands out for an excellent order intake, significantly higher than a year ago. Additionally, our models continue to gain increasing approval in competitive markets: I am particularly referring to the new Citroën C3 and Opel Corsa, not to mention, in the Premium segment, the new outstanding performance of Alfa Romeo in Italy. And soon, we will see the impact of the FIAT Grande Panda"
